What does the Brit Milah ceremony involve?
First, you and I will have a long conversation prior to the baby’s Brit Milah to discuss exactly what you need to prepare for the Bris. We will discuss how to prepare your home and your son for the Ritual Circumcision ceremony. I will discuss what makes my Bris pain-free and why my Brit Milah ceremony is so special. I will explain the religious symbols present and help you understand the meaning of, or choose your child’s Hebrew name. You will understand the roles of the Kvatar, Kvatarin and Sandek. Most important of all, I will explain the meaning, history and symbolism of the Bris.
How long does the ceremony last?
The actual ceremony takes about half an hour with the circumcision set in the middle. The circumcision takes less than sixty seconds and is then followed by blessings, a Kiddush, the baby’s Hebrew naming ceremony, a healing prayer for the baby and mother, a thanksgiving prayer and the beautiful blessing over you and all your children.
Are all ceremonies the same?
Another reason why my Brit Milah ceremony is so special is the Bris Siddur that I prepare especially for you and your guests so that everyone may participate in this joyous celebration.
